Xiaomi Mi A3 Review

Design | Appearance

Design is the best part of the Mi A3. It is eye-catching with all that bling-bling finish and yet, it is subtle enough to look classy.

The Mi A3 comes in three colors; More Than White, Not Just Blue, and Kind Of Grey.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 uses Gorilla Glass 5 support not just on the back panel and over the display but also on the camera lenses which adds to the overall appeal and finish of the phone.

Besides the stunning design and great build quality, the Mi A3 also has a compactness feel on the hands, and it’s also lightweight.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with a Super AMOLED 6.08-inch display of 720 x 1,560 pixels screen resolution and 281 PPI pixel density.

Xiaomi Mi A3 Camera

Xiaomi Mi A3 has a quad rear camera set up.

The main one is  48MP  which is 26mm wide which takes 16-megapixel shots by default and can record video at up to 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps.

The other one is the one with 8MP and it’s 13mm ultrawide. There is also a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The device also has a front camera with 13MP, great for selfies and video calls.

Camera features

  • LED flash
  • HDR
  • Panorama
  • Beauty
  • Face detection
  • Self-timer
  • Wide selfie
  • Autofocus

This Xiaomi device also boasts of its storage capacity. The device has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is quite a lot of space compared to other android devices which normally have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The device’s space is quite large for general storage but it doesn’t work for you, you can add up more space by getting a MicroSD card with up to 256GB.

Xiaomi Mi A3 has a 4030 mAH non-removable Li-Po battery and supports 18W Quick Charge. You are only provided with a 10W charger so you’ll have to buy the 18W charger separately.

The device gives you more than a day of battery life after a single charge.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 665 chipset. It’s a relatively new chip from mid-2019, and it’s available in few smartphones, one of which is the Xiaomi Mi A3.

So, the new Snapdragon 665 chip is based on the more efficient 11nm manufacturing process compared to the 14nm Snapdragon 660. It has the same processor as the S660 – an octa-core Kryo 260 CPU with 4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold (Cortex-A73 derivative) & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver (Cortex-A53 derivative).

Well, almost the same – the high-performance Kryo cores are actually clocked 200MHz lower than the same on the Mi A2’s S660.

The Mi A3 is plenty fast and delivers about the same performance as its price bracket peers. It is a very dependable performer thanks to its Snapdragon 665 chip and that HD screen. It’s as great for gaming as it is for daily operations and browsing social media.
